Every FocusComet feature. No vague promises.

FocusComet is an Android focus app that can hide distracting apps, block them, run Pomodoro rounds and lock a session until the timer ends. This page is the exact capability record—what works, what costs money and what FocusComet does not do.

Core focus modes

Vanish Mode

Selected apps disappear from the Android home screen, app drawer and dock for the session. They stay installed, their data stays untouched and they return when the session ends.

Android home screen before a FocusComet session, full of Snapchat, Instagram, Netflix, Reddit and other apps — Same phone, same wallpaper. Start a session and the distractions are simply gone; end it and every app comes back.

The same home screen during FocusComet Vanish Mode: only WhatsApp, Settings and other essentials remain — Same phone, same wallpaper. Start a session and the distractions are simply gone; end it and every app comes back.

Block Mode

Selected icons stay visible. Opening one redirects you back to FocusComet. Use it when you want a gentler interruption instead of removing the icon.

Pomodoro

For sessions of 25 minutes or more, FocusComet can run fixed 25-minute focus rounds and 5-minute breaks. Selected apps are hidden or blocked during focus, return automatically on the break, then leave again. Pomodoro is available on the free plan. Custom round lengths and long breaks are not currently supported.

FocusComet Pomodoro break: your apps are back until the next round starts — Apps leave for every focus round and come back for every break.

Hard lock

Hard lock is Premium. Hold to lock in and the End button disappears until the timer finishes. Android Settings stays blocked during the locked session. A real emergency can be escalated to FocusComet support.

FocusComet session in Hard lock: timer running, locked until 2:38 pm, apps hidden and notifications paused — Hard lock: hold to lock in, then the session runs to the end.

Profiles, schedules and essential apps

A profile stores the apps and focus mode you want for a situation such as lectures, homework, work or sleep. Premium adds unlimited profiles, a schedule on every profile and allow-only profiles that keep a small set of essential apps while everything else vanishes.

Schedules start Block Mode automatically. Vanish Mode schedules notify you and can start with one tap. Scheduled sessions are normal sessions; Hard lock must be chosen manually so a schedule never traps you unexpectedly.

Platform, privacy and honest limits

Platform: Android only. There is no iPhone, desktop or browser extension.
Websites: FocusComet controls Android apps, not individual websites. Hide the browser or pair it with a website blocker if sites are the problem.
Account: Core focus functionality works without requiring an account.
Permissions: modes use Android permissions needed to hide or control selected apps. Hard lock requires additional setup.
Not literally unbreakable: no consumer Android app can survive every possible device-reset path. Hard lock is designed to close ordinary exits, not claim impossible control.
