Best Focus Apps for Suneung / CSAT Study in South Korea
The apps you need and the apps that interrupt you live on the same phone. Keep the lecture and vocabulary tools. Remove the short-video feeds and games from your study window.
Start with the type of study
| Work | Keep available | Focus pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Vocabulary and concepts | Flashcards and essential dictionary | Fixed 25/5 rounds to begin |
| Past papers and mocks | Questions and required materials | Normal session following current timing |
| In-gang video lessons | Lecture app and notes | Block unrelated social apps and games |
| Mistake review | Explanations and error notes | Explain the reasoning in a separate block |
Use real examination timing for real practice
Suneung and CSAT refer to South Korea’s College Scholastic Ability Test. Check the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation’s current candidate and subject information. A mock interrupted every 25 minutes is a different exercise from continuous examination practice.
Keep the video-lesson profile separate from the mock profile. A lesson profile allows the teaching app; a mock profile keeps only what that practice needs. Blocking the entire YouTube app also blocks lectures inside it. FocusComet does not selectively separate Shorts from the rest of YouTube.
Do the setup before stronger blocking
Check family contact, travel, authentication and necessary study tools during a short ordinary session. Then use Hard lock only when the task and access list are deliberate. A long study day still needs meals, movement and real breaks. Twelve-hour session support is not an instruction to work for twelve uninterrupted hours.
International students in Korea
International students and applicants should follow their institution’s own route and course requirements rather than assuming Suneung applies to everyone. If your work is an English-taught course exam, a project or a language assignment, build the session around that assessment. Keep campus authentication and required communication working.
Pick the app for your Suneung study problem
| Need | Compare | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Short videos and webtoons break study blocks | FocusComet | Gone for the study block, back when it ends |
| Detailed app and website rules | AppBlock or Stay Focused | Rules, schedules and a strict mode |
| A planner for lectures and workbooks | Focus To-Do or Engross | Tasks and timing together |
| A visual reward for long days | Forest or FocusComet | Trees or a growing universe |
Your Suneung year, phone included
Suneung is held on a single Thursday in mid-November, with official mock exams in June and September. One long exam day means stamina matters as much as knowledge, and your phone setup can train both.
Through the year: schedule a daily session after school or hagwon so self-study starts on time. June and September mocks: run each section at real timing in one continuous session while Vanish Mode clears games, webtoons and short videos off your screens. The final month: use Allow-only on full study days, keeping just your lecture app, notes and calls, and use Hard lock for the evenings before the exam.
