Best Focus Apps for PAU, EBAU and Selectividad in Spain
You can need your phone for study without needing its distractions. For the PAU—also searched under EBAU and Selectividad—separate notes from noise. A focus app protects the work; it does not replace the syllabus.
Start with your region and subjects
Check the current examination name, specimen papers and instructions for your autonomous community and coordinating university. Do not copy timing from an old paper or a generic table. Select one subject and a concrete output before enabling a block.
Keep the familiar search terms in perspective: students use PAU, EBAU and Selectividad, but that does not make every format or regional requirement identical. Your official guidance and school determine the practice conditions.
Configure revision, practice and correction separately
| Stage | Keep | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Revision | Notes, dictionary or flashcards | Feeds, games and shopping |
| Practice paper | Question and required working tools | Opening explanations before finishing |
| Correction | Criteria and error log | Jumping straight into another video |
Pomodoro does not mean interrupting every exercise
A 25-minute round starts work you have been avoiding. A mock needs the continuous time of its chosen format. Afterwards, reserve a correction block: explain why you missed the answer and what you will practise next. Counting hours without review does not repair mistakes.
If you use recorded lessons, allow the teaching app. If that same app contains the feed that catches you, find another way to access the required resource. FocusComet does not isolate Shorts from the rest of YouTube.
International students in Spain
International applicants should check which admissions route their institution requires rather than assuming PAU applies automatically. Enrolled university students should use their own course’s exam or assignment instructions. The same selective profiles protect revision, writing and practice in English-taught programmes too.
Pick the app for your PAU study problem
| Need | Compare | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram and TikTok break every revision session | FocusComet | Nothing to tap until the session is over |
| Detailed app and website rules | AppBlock or Stay Focused | Schedules and strict rules you configure |
| A planner for every subject | Focus To-Do or Engross | Tasks and timer together |
| A visual reward | Forest or FocusComet | Trees or a growing universe |
Your PAU calendar, phone included
The PAU, still widely called EBAU or Selectividad, usually has its ordinary sitting in early June, with an extraordinary sitting later in the summer. Exact dates vary by region, but the shape is the same everywhere.
Second year of bachillerato: schedule a daily session for homework and summaries. Mock exams: sit each paper at real timing in one continuous session while Vanish Mode clears Instagram, TikTok and games off your screens. May and June: use Allow-only on revision days, keeping just your notes, past papers and WhatsApp for family, and use Hard lock the night before each exam day.

Frequently asked questions
Can a focus app help with Selectividad preparation?
Yes. FocusComet takes the tempting apps off your screens for each session, so revision time stays revision time. Compare AppBlock or Stay Focused for detailed rules, and Focus To-Do for planning.
Can WhatsApp stay available?
Yes. Hide only the apps that distract you and keep WhatsApp, or use Allow-only with WhatsApp on the list.
